Boots Christmas

More from the Boots Christmas campaign as it's had a bundle of praise and affection from David Reviews this week, saying it's one of their favourite moments of advertising from 2011 and preferred to John Lewis. Thanks David! So to add to the christmas excitement, here they are: 'Stakeout' and 'Rubbish Dad'

Quin Double Whammy

It's a double whammy for Quin this week as we showcase some of his latest work. Recently we've been seeing a lot of tenthree favourite James Griffiths as he's been commuting back and forth from L.A. - A long journey I hear you cry? Well he knows about our cake and that's all there is to it. Quin and the man himself have worked together for a number of years and we love having him around tenthree.

The first is a compilation of 2 spots from Majestic Wine, tackling the sense of intimation felt by punters when they buy their wine from a specialist rather than a supermarket.

Director: James Griffiths @ Moxie Pictures
Producer: Noreen Khan
Agency: St. Lukes
Editor: Quin Williams

The second is a charming spot entitled ‘Young Spice’. The activity is set in the 1960s and again features Patak’s Chairman, Kirit Pathak, as a child. The 60 second TV ad shows Kirit, who is now a little older, playing hide and seek with his younger brother in the family’s spice warehouse.

Congratulations MJ!!

Well done MJ Delaney for picking up Best New Director at last nights' BTAA Craft Awards! In a category brimming with talent, regular tenthree-er MJ scooped the top prize with Ed and Becs there to witness. The only disappointment was that Jean didn't win in her category but by the looks of it she enjoyed herself! Jean you naughty girl!

Monday 21 November 2011

Good Luck MJ and Jean!

tenthree would like to wish MJ Delaney the very best of luck for tonight as she is up for Best New Director at the BTAA Craft Awards. We must also mention Jean - the star of Aldi 'Tea' - who is up for Best Actress and has made the journey down to London especially. tenthree has their fingers crossed for both talented girls!

Aldi - Parrot (LIKE IT!)

Important message!! Parrots should NOT be kept as pets in small cages! However, they do make a great advert! In this latest installment from Aldi and Director MJ Delaney we see a jovial parrot on his perch inspecting his potential Christmas grog. Seemingly he's fond of them all and it makes for a hilarious spot! What makes this even more magical is that our own tenthree-er - Dom - provided the voice for the Parrot! What a talent!

Sky Movies - Coming Home

It's very nearly that time of year we all hate to love! Surrounding tenthree headquarters the streets are already littered with decoration fodder and the carol singers are warming up their vocal cords. Yes, it's CHRISTMAS. Here at tenthree we're a festive bunch so we were delighted to team up with Rattling Stick for the upcoming Sky Movies Christmas ads.

The series of spots entitled 'Coming Home' follows an intrepid father on his way home from work to see his kids on the eve of christmas. However, his regular journey home turns into a tale of epic proportions as he finds himself caught in the movies he should be watching at home with his family. You have to see it to believe it!

Christmas From The Boots Girls

Oh yes you better believe it! Just when you thought they couldn't possibly give us any more, the girls are back and they're bigger than ever. The girls give us a taster of the extremes they go to at Christmas to bring happiness to their loved ones. It's espionage, it's glamour, it's a little far fetched, but we love it!

Google - Online Checkout

We've all experienced the frustration of trying to buy something online from a website which doesn't appear to want to allow it. This latest spot from the Google Analytics team, Directed by Misha Manson-Smith and edited by Charlie, reflects that dismal process and strikes a very authentic note.

It's an excellent piece of comedy and proves a perfect vehicle for drawing attention to a service provided by Google which helps online traders realise where they're going wrong!

Natwest Emergency Cash

Let's admit it, we've all been out and had a few tequila's too many, left our wallet somewhere and not been able to draw out that extra cash for the next round. Thankfully, Natwest has come up with a solution to this (and other less irresponsible scenarios) - a pin code to access your money at the cash point - and it's charmingly portrayed in their latest ad, Directed by Marc Evans and cut by James Wright. A brilliant idea but probably best saved for an absolute necessity.

Kele ft Lucy Taylor - What Did I Do

This is a banger of a tune from Kele (Lead singer of Bloc Party) and Lucy Taylor - Zane Lowe even labelled it 'The hottest record in the world' on September 22nd on Radio 1! Kele had been working on this track for a while and looked to his keyboard player, Lucy, to provide the main vocals. Cut by Jim, the video was directed by the multi-talented Nova Dando. Citroen Neighbour

tenthree had a lorra' lorra' laughs working with director Richard Ayoade on this clever series of idents for Citroen to accompany An Idiot Abroad 2 on Sky 1. The idents feature a nosey neighbour, who clearly doesn't get out much, commenting on the family and their car next door. Edited by Quin.

Brownies By Becs

Becs has exceeded all expectations this monday morning by bringing in a copious amount of chocolate brownies!  Luckily, last week we were given this lovely slate cake-stand by regular tenthree-er Al Traquair. Don't they compliment each other wonderfully?

Buttery Biscuit Base

Lately we've been eating cake way too fast for it to be snapped and blogged, much to the dismay of our Cake Corner followers. Fortunately this morning - thanks to some quick thinking - we were able to pap the last piece of this creamy indulgent Baked Cheesecake before it was devoured. Thanks go to birthday girl Emily who's been working with us for the last 2 weeks. Happy Birthday! Look at your cake!

Nike Rugby - New Blood

Forget the Euros. Forget the Olympics. Starting tomorrow, we are competing in an international sporting competition we actually have a chance of winning as The Rugby World Cup kicks off in New Zealand; with England's first game on Saturday at 9.30am. In preparation, Jim teamed up with Pulse's Anthony Dickenson to create the spot below for Nike featuring England stars like Chris Ashton, Courtney Lawes, Ben Foden and even big Johnno himself. Hopefully it whets the appetite for the next 2 weeks of Rugby. Come on England!!!!

Fish Finger

There's no denying it, everybody loves a fish finger, it's just fact! They're a reliable snack and you know exactly what you're getting. Aldi have pounced on the Fish Finger vulnerability of a nation with their new spot featuring a talking cat. This is the latest in a popular series by Director MJ Delaney in which Aldi's own-brand products are compared to more household names. Cut by Editor/Feline expert/Fish finger connoisseur Rebecca Luff.

Quin's Ride For Charity

Quin is cycling a very long way from Horsely in Surrey to Brussels in Belgium with 30 other overweight, middle-aged men.  220 miles... no he hasn't done enough training and yes he is scared.

Why would he chose to punish his legs and buttocks, but more insanely, choose to surround himself with 30 overweight men in lycra for 3 days? We asked the same question.....Well, he's doing this to raise money for The Royal Marsden and their amazing research into cancer. So to help him we are sharing his page where you can make a much appreciated donation however big or small - every penny will count.

Click on the Quin to donate!

First Heartbreak

This week one of our latest pieces of work made it to Rolling Stone magazine. The article focuses on the idea behind Doc Martens' most recent advertising campaign - 'Firsts' - and to launch it they've released this short film directed by Fred & Nick and edited by Billy. I would tell you more but Rolling Stone tell it better.... Rolling Stone Magazine - First Heartbreak

KFC Krushems

What a hot weekend that was! Hopefully everyone made the most of the 5th day of sunshine we've had this year. On days like yesterday there is nothing the average sun-baked, perspiring, slightly dehydrated person needs more than a thirst-quenching, fruity, ice-cold drink. Well now we've got the answer.....

This is the latest offering from Jimmy and Director Chris Ullens who've produced this wonderful stop-frame piece for the release of KFC's new fruit Krushems. Filmed over a few days, Chris employed the help of local Graffiti artists to create the street art for his vision.

This is Football

It's nearly that time of the year again...... Men stand united....women lose control of the remote....and we all get to see what Wayne Rooney's new hair-line looks like!! Yes it's the start of the football season 2011/12!

It's been a dream job for us at tenthree to be involved in Sky's new teaser for the upcoming football season - not just because we're huge football fans and it involved watching A LOT of football rushes (Nearly 50 hours)! For this project the team of cameramen - led by Director Ivan Bird - were given unprecedented access to a number of football grounds to film the fans and their emotional highs and lows. Edited by Billy, we think it really captures the passion and emotion behind the beautiful game and we can't wait for the season to start!

Tour Dor Set

tenthree has been gripped by Tour De France fever recently and this weekend two of tenthree's finest (Billy & Ed) donned their lyrca and took to the Dorset hills to emulate their heroes.
On the two wheeled theme there's a lovely piece from the good people at Rapha Cycling featuring the 'Little Pirate' Marco Pantini and the not so little Col du Galibier which this years riders will be tackling in Stage 17 on Thursday.

Baking Ace

Thanks to Ace for leaving us with this flour-less chocolate cake on the final day of his work experience at tenthree. Crazy baking skills at 15 years old.

He's been Ace!

This week at tenthree we've had the pleasure of Ace joining us for work experience.  It has to be said that his politeness and attitude towards work have impressed everyone here at tenthree and we'd have him back anytime.  Ace is studying Media and Art at the Brit school and wants to make the move into editing and we reckon he's one to watch for the future!  Ace is also unique in the fact that nobody has ever seen him eat or drink, but that didn't stop him from baking us a cake and cementing his place in our hearts at tenthree - for that Ace, we salute you!

Beet Cake

Unfortunately our brownies were eaten up so quickly this week we didn't have time to take a photo. Instead we've got this nice little video - courtesy of Tiger In A Jar - on how to make a slightly controversial Beet cake. Enjoy.
