Mama Campbell's Banana Bread

At tenthree we like to think of ourselves as connoisseurs of cake so we're always open to try out others recipes. One of our mates' mummy has been kind enough to share her famous banana bread recipe and we've been kind enough to share it with everyone!

Ingredients:

220g Plain flour

160g Granulated sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 Eggs

125ml vegetable oil

60g Walnuts

3 well mashed ripe bananas

This cake is so easy to make all you need is one bowl. Start by combining the flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon. Make a well in the centre of the bowl and add the vanilla extract, eggs and vegetable oil. This gives a very dry mixture but have no fear your bananas will transform it. According to Mama Campbell the secret to this recipe is the bananas. They must be over ripe and starting to go a bit brown. This means they are super mushy and extra bananay!!! Mash them up and add them to the mixture. Finally add 45g of the walnuts and put the mixture into a greased and lined 20cm x 10cm loaf tin. For the final touch sprinkle the top with brown sugar and the remaining walnut for toasted nutty brown brown crusty of justice.

Stick it in the oven of an hour at 160. Then eat it piping hot straight out of the oven with vanilla ice cream. Or cold the next day with a cuppa and a slathering of nutella!!!

Brownies By Becs

Becs has exceeded all expectations this monday morning by bringing in a copious amount of chocolate brownies!  Luckily, last week we were given this lovely slate cake-stand by regular tenthree-er Al Traquair. Don't they compliment each other wonderfully?

Buttery Biscuit Base

Lately we've been eating cake way too fast for it to be snapped and blogged, much to the dismay of our Cake Corner followers. Fortunately this morning - thanks to some quick thinking - we were able to pap the last piece of this creamy indulgent Baked Cheesecake before it was devoured. Thanks go to birthday girl Emily who's been working with us for the last 2 weeks. Happy Birthday! Look at your cake!

Ed's Birthday!

Last week at tenthree we all celebrated the birth of Ed. He has requested his age remains anonymous but he's allowed us to post the photos of him with his cake - look how happy he is!
